Wine and Food Social Friday Night

The 13th annual Wine and Food Social is tonight, Friday March 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Hillview Country Club. Stop by to sample food, wine and cider from local restaurants and take part in the raffles.

Seventeen local restaurants will attend the event to offer samples of their best dishes. There will also be a wine and cider tasting to enjoy.

Bertucci's will be serving Tomato Brushetta, Chicken Domani and Cheese Pizza, China Cuisine will serve Sesame Chicken, the Great American Tavern will serve Mediterranean Chicken, the Hillview Country Club will serve Wild Mushroom Ravioli in a Marsala sauce, the Horseshoe will serve Crab Cigars, Steak Diane and Cornbread, Lacasia's Bakery will serve Chicken, Broccoli and Ziti, Eggplant Parmesan and assorted pastry. There are many other restaurants that will be present as well.

For your entertainment, there will be a DJ, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $40 and available online. If the event is not sold out, you may be able to purchase tickets at the door.

This event benefits the beautification and expansion of Ipswich River Park, according to Parks and Recreation Operations Director/ Department Head Maureen Stevens.

"Every year it's our biggest fundraiser," Stevens said.

This year, their goal is to expand the Recreation Center. 

"We're expecting another great crowd, it is a really good time," she said.
