1. Morning Book Discussion Group meeting

The Morning Book Discussion Group will meet 10:30 a.m. at Norton Public Library to talk about this month’s selection, “The Orchardist,” by Amanda Coplin.

2. Cornhole

Cornhole tournaments are held every Wednesday, 8 p.m. at Trinity Bar & Restaurant. Cornhole is similar to horseshoes except you use wooden platforms and corn bags in place of horseshoes and metal stakes.

3. Holocaust survivor presentation

Holocaust survivor, Janet Applefield, will speak at Foxborough Regional Charter School, 131 Central St., Foxborough, 6:30 p.m. The FRCS Holocaust Stamps Project and Boston 3G have partnered to present this important program to the public. No charge to attend, but RSVP requested to outreach@foxboroughrcs.org

4. Great outdoors photography contest

Mass Audubon’s 2013 statewide photography contest, Picture This: Your Great Outdoors, will continue through Monday, Sept. 30. There are two age levels; 18 and Older and Under 18. Submission categories include: People in Nature, Birds, Other Animals, Plants and Fungi and Landscapes. Each entrant may submit up to five photographs, which must be taken in Massachusetts or at Mass Audubon’s Wildwood Camp, located in Rindge, NH. A grand prize winner, selected from among up to 10 winners (two from each level per category), will be awarded a $250 gift card, to be redeemed at a Mass Audubon shop or a wildlife sanctuary, in addition to being featured in Connections, Mass Audubon’s member newsletter. Other winners will receive $100 gift cards, to be redeemed at a Mass Audubon shop or a wildlife sanctuary, and up to 10 runners-up will win $50 gift cards. Additional honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judges. All submissions, regardless of original format, must be submitted online.
