1. Mother Goose Storytime, “This Time is Different” book discussion
Norton Public Library will hold Mother Goose Storytime at 10:30 a.m. This program is for babies and toddlers new to 2 years old. Older siblings are welcome too. No registration is required. Then at 6:30 p.m. the Men’s Book Discussion Group will gather to discuss “This Time is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly,” by Carmen M. Reinhart and Kenneth S. Rogoff. This group meets the first Monday of each month.

2. Collegians performance
Join New Testament Christian School at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary to experience the singing of a small choir group consisting of 18 students from Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, N.Y.  Mark Strout, the president of the school, will be speaking. 3. New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala
The New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala will start 5 p.m. with a Caring for the Caregiver and medical briefing presentation while the reception will begin at 6 p.m. at the Putnam Club in Gillette Stadium. The gala celebration begins with a cocktail hour, during which guests can buy footballs to be autographed by Patriots players, bid on silent auction items, and enjoy delicious culinary offerings. A live auction and speaking program, featuring Joe Andruzzi and Foundation beneficiaries, will follow. Proceeds will go toward the Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s financial assistance program for cancer patients and their families, and the C.J. 4. Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund campaign
The Salvation Army, the administrator of the 2012 – 2013 Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund campaign, announces that the Fund will be available to households on an emergency basis due to the “urgency of need” throughout the state. The Fund will open to all qualified candidates on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

A cooperative effort between the state's energy companies, their customers and The Salvation Army, the Fund helps households in temporary crisis who do not qualify for federal or state assistance with the payment of their energy expenses. The Fund’s 28th Annual “Give The Gift of Warmth” campaign's goal is to raise $650,000 and help more than 2,000 households.

To qualify for assistance from the Fund, an applicant's gross household income must fall between 60 and 80 percent of the state’s median income levels. This year's Fund disbursement is $350 per eligible household per heating season.

To support the fund, donations can be placed in the mint-colored Good Neighbor Energy Fund envelope found as an insert in monthly energy bills. Customers can also donate with a credit card online at www.magoodneighbor.org, calling 1-800- SAL-ARMY  or by mailing a check payable to "The Good Neighbor Energy Fund" and sending it to The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, Massachusetts 02021.
