1. “In the Shadow of the Banyan” book discussion

Join in a morning book discussion group the first Wednesday of each month 10:30 a.m. in the community room of Norton Public Library. This month's selection is “In the Shadow of the Banyan,” by Vaddey Ratner.

2. Southeastern graduation

The Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School graduation ceremony will be 6 p.m. today in the school gymnasium.

3. Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers meetings are held at Epoch held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and new members are being sought. The meeting is an "at work" format and about four more people are needed in order to meet the minimum. The cost is $39.95 per month. Membership is at a discounted rate with full access to all the Weight Watcher etools. For more information call 508-285-3355.

4. Sips & Swings program

Ledgemont Country Club, 131 Brown Ave., Seekonk, is debuting its newest program, Sips & Swings, an introductory Golf clinic for women. PGA Head Professional, Todd Campbell, and his teaching staff will be introducing the fundamentals of golf each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. June 5 through July 10 (excluding July 3) at the Club. These low-pressure clinics are intended to familiarize a beginner-golfer with the game and the course, each then followed by an unwinding reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The intro series is open to both members and the public, no experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided for $35 per person, per evening.
