The Norton Community Lions will hold their annual yard sale 8 a.m. to noon at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Monies raised through fundraising efforts go towards Lions causes such as Mass Lions eye research, diabetes, hearing foundation, etc. along with community activities.
3. Eastern Cougar Presentation at Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill
Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill, 293 Moose Hill St., Sharon, will hold an eastern cougar presentation at 7 p.m. Fee is $10 for sanctuary members and $15 for non-members. Pre-registration is required. Guest speaker is Bill Betty, a mountain lion lecturer from Rhode Island. He will cover all aspects of cougar behavior: sport hunting, reproduction, pets, predation, and habituation. The various theories why cougars are rapidly reoccupying the Northeast will be discussed. Bill’s narrative of close encounters with nature’s perfect predator gives compelling testimony about the presence of cougars in New England. His PowerPoint presentation will be enhanced by “show and tell” items. Call 781-784-5691 for details.
