5 Things March 10: Gift Basket Raffles, Maple Sugar Festival and More

1. Gift basket raffle
Friends of the Library is selling tickets for a gift basket raffle through March 29. Basket themes include kitchen, wine, music, kids, office, spa, etc. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. The drawing will be March 29 at noon.

2.  Worship
Services will be at St. Mary’s Church 8 and 9:30 a.m., at Unitarian Congregational Church at 9 a.m., Trinitarian Congregational Church at 10 a.m. and Chartley Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m.

3. Maple Sugar Festival
Journey back in time to enjoy the time honored tradition of turning sap to syrup at Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill Maple Sugar Festival 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 293 Moose Hill St., Sharon. This includes a 90-minute outdoor, guided tour on a wooded trail to discover the history of maple sugaring. Visit the Native American and colonial site while meeting costumed characters from the past making maple syrup and reenacting other daily chores. Your tour will include a visit to our “sugar shack” where we turn sap into authentic maple syrup. All will get to taste. Enjoy hot pancakes, “sap” dogs on buns and maple sugar popcorn served at the Nature Center. The sugaring fun continues at our children’s craft tables. Other dates include March 16 and 17. This event is open to all; $7 in advance or $8 on the day of the event. Children younger than 3 are admitted free. Pre-registration is recommended by calling 781-784-5691.
