1. Vinyasa yoga class
Located at the Norton Parks and Rec Center on Rt.140
This yoga class, held at Norton Parks and Recreational Center at 237 Mansfield Ave., is primarily a Vinyasa Flow, which links breath with movement; naturally creating heat in the body. It helps lessen anxiety, stress and fatigue through its mindful, fluid motion and yoga breathing focus. For more information or to sign up email Gail at timgail@comcast.net.

2. Music & Movement and Book Explorers
Music & Movement starts 10:30 a.m. at Norton Public Library. This drop-in class is fun for all ages. At 4 p.m., Book Explorers will meet to celebrate Seuss. This program is for those in grades kindergarten through 4. Pre-register at the library.    

3. Varicose vein screening
Do you have tired, swollen, or painful legs? If so, register for a free leg screening 5 to 7 p.m. at 711 W. Center St., W. Bridgewater. Here you may identify a vascular condition and find out if you are a candidate for new minimally invasive technologies that can successfully treat this condition in less than an hour. Brigham and Women’s Vein Care specialists, experts in the symptoms of varicose vein conditions, will be on-hand to discuss treatment options. Screenings take less than five minutes and are open to men and women. Participants are examined individually in a private environment and should wear loose-fitting clothes (no pantyhose). 4. Gov. Patrick signs executive order to enhance opportunities for small businesses owned by disabled veterans
Governor Deval Patrick today signed an executive order to help small businesses owned by disabled veterans increase access to contracts for public projects in the areas of construction, design and goods and services procurement.

The executive order directs the Executive Office of Administration and Finance (A&F) to define program requirements and guidelines. A&F will then implement a participation goal requirement for service disabled veteran-owned small businesses to gain access to contracts for public projects in the areas of construction, design, and goods and services procurement. A&F will also establish a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise Program to oversee the inclusion of business enterprises owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans in all areas of state procurement contracting.

There are 124 service-disabled veteran-owned businesses certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs located in Massachusetts. More than 385,000 veterans currently live in Massachusetts, including over 42,000 men and women who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11. The Patrick-Murray Administration has worked to ensure newly returning veterans, as well as Massachusetts’ aging veteran population, continue to receive quality health, education benefits, housing and employment services to honor their service.
