1. Teen Tuesday and Friend of the Library meeting
Middle and high school students are welcome to join Norton Public Library 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays in March and April in the library community room to play board games or wii games, watch a movie, try out a craft project, clean up the library park, or help decorate the children's room. No registration is required, but a parental permission slip must be signed if parents choose not to remain in the library building during the event. At 6:30 p.m. Friends of the Library will hold a meeting. This meeting occurs the first Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted. Everyone is welcome.
2. Employment Support Group of Norton
This group is for people seeking employment. Get help with resume design, networking skills, interviewing skills and mentor support. The group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church parlor. The group is open to all. 3. Tasting March Madness
Tastings will hold their own version of March Madness Tuesdays 7 to 9 p.m. until April 2. The “bracket-enology” is a fusion of NCAA March Madness and serious wine tastings. The competition is between deliciously unique and interesting wines from all over the globe. Pick the wines you think will win the most votes at each tasting and earn points for each correct guess. In the championship round, Tastings will crown a champion and award prizes to those that have accumulated the most points. First prize is a chef’s tasting for two and the runner-up will win a dinner and a movie package for two. Each tasting will cost $10 per person. 4. Budget impact tool
Governor Deval Patrick unveiled an online tool that shows the impact of the Patrick-Murray Administration Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) budget proposal on an individual or family’s budget. The tool can be found, along with maps that outline the education and transportation plans that will help grow jobs in every corner of the Commonwealth, at www.mass.gov/governor/choosegrowth.
5. High near 42, low around 32
Today there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 10 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. North wind will be 7 to 10 mph. Tonight there is a 30 percent chance of rain showers before 9 p.m., then a chance of snow showers. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
