1. Eleven performance
Shake off the winter blues with Eleven at Norton's famous Trinity Bar & Restaurant 9:30 p.m. This band will be heating the place up with another set of high energy rock n roll so you can cool off with a cold beer.
2. Fraud protection seminar
EPOCH Assisted Living of Norton will host a fraud protection seminar 1:15 p.m. Linda Corey, the branch manager at North Easton Savings Bank, will lead the seminar and offer tips for protecting yourself and your money against scams. 3. 20,000 Leagues Steampunk Gala
5 Wits will hold a 20,000 Leagues Steampunk Gala starting 5 p.m. at Patriot Place. Gear up and bring your goggles for an adventure into Captain Nemo's Nautilus, a breathtaking Victorian submarine lost beneath the waves. Enjoy an hour long walk-through adventure that will test your wits with mind bending puzzles and jaw dropping scenery that's fun for any explorer. Celebrate the evening in style with food and fun. 4. South Shore Great Pumpkin grant
South Shore Great Pumpkin will offer a grant to any school or educational entity that has a curriculum or formal educational program for any or all grades k-12. The pumpkin(s) must be grown on the grounds of the school. The patch must be cared for only by the staff, kids/students of that school, and/or the family of enrolled children. The school can request help from professional growers via email or phone but professional growers are not allowed to visit the qualifying pumpkin patch. The winning school will receive a grant for no less than $900 and no greater than $1500. Fill out and mail in a school grant application or email SSGreatPumpkinChallenge@gmail.com and request an application to be emailed to you.
5. High near 36, low around 29
Today there is a 90 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 3 p.m. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Temperature high will be near 36.
