Start off Mother’s Day with services at St. Mary’s Church 8 and 9:30 a.m., Unitarian Congregational Church at 9 a.m., Trinitarian Congregational Church at 10 a.m. and Chartley Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m.

3. Mother’s Day Victorian high tea

The Proctor Mansion Inn, 36 Common St  Wrentham, will hold Victorian high tea for Mother’s Day 3 to 5 p.m. There will be live entertainment plus assorted teas served with china teacups, specialty sandwiches, scones with preserves and devonshire cream, chocolate dipped strawberries and pastries. A cash bar will serve wine, champagne and mimosas. Cost is $30.50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Advance payment is required. 4. Give mom a virtual hug

AT&T wants to help people across the country thank their moms for all they do this Mother's Day with a personalized e-card featuring the kids from AT&T's "It's Not Complicated" commercials. Just log on to ATTMothersDay.com, enter your name, email address and mom's email address and AT&T will send a big virtual hug to mom so she knows how much she means to you.

5. High near 71, low around 39

Today there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. There will be patchy fog between 7 and 10 a.m. Otherwise, it will be cloudy, with a high near 71. Southwest wind will be 5 to 11 mph. Tonight there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms around 7 to 9 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy during the early evening, then will gradually clear, with a low around 39. West wind will be 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
