Kids can support The Norton Hockey Organization by wearing a pair of crazy socks today to any of Norton Public Schools. For $1 you can wear knee-socks, tube-socks, striped, neon or even hockey-socks. All proceeds will go to the Norton Hockey Organization and the 2013-2014 Norton High School Hockey Team.

2. American Pride Gifts & Collectibles ribbon cutting

The United Regional Chamber of Commerce has organized a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the grand opening of American Pride Gifts & Collectibles, 27 South Worcester St., Norton, at 10 a.m. American Pride offers gift baskets, Yankee Candles, garden flags, collectible picture frames, as well as firefighter, policemen, EMS, angel, and military figurines.

3. Providence ghost tour

Ever felt like you were being watched? Had the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end while heading downstairs to that creepy old basement? Be lead by lantern light through the darkened streets of the historic East Side, sharing with you stories that will be sure to send a chill down your spine. Be sure to bring you camera, because you never know what will develop, and wear your walking shoes. This event will start 8 p.m. at 60 Congdon St, Providence, R.I. Cost is $18.

4. Promote your event on Patch
