The Land Preservation Society (LPS) of Norton and the Norton Historical Society are holding their combined annual meeting at the Old Schoolhouse starting 6 p.m. It will start off with a cold ham buffet. The cost is $3 per person and all are welcome. After the buffet, brief meetings of both societies will be held. The speaker this year is William (Bill) Napolitano, the Environmental Program Director of SRPEDD (Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District.) Mr. Napolitano has built his successful environmental planning career around a strong and positive partnership with communities and organizations across southeastern Massachusetts. 2. Arthritis Foundation fundraiser

Jake's Place Clubhouse will donate a percentage of all entrance fees 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to the Arthritis Foundation - New England Region. You do not need to be part of the Arthritis Foundation to participate. Admission is $10.

3. Free blood pressure clinic

Parish Nurse Ministry, 984 Taunton Ave., Seekonk, will offer blood pressure checks weekly this fall Tuesday mornings 9:30 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. The Parish Nurse works within the parish community, not duplicating existing services, but helping in the area of education, referrals, advocacy and support.
