The Norton Police Honor Guard received 1st place in "Best Uniform" and 1st place in "Honor Guard" at the Aquidneck Island Police Parade Sunday.
2. Dog show at EPOCH

EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Norton will welcome Jane Young for a dog show at 1:30 p.m. Young trains and competes in obedience, rally, field and the breed ring with her three Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers. These dogs will show off their talent, retrieving dumbbells and bumpers, leaping over broad jumps, responding to silent signal commands and more. This event is free and open to the public. 3. Southeastern Voc Tech parent meeting
Join Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School 6:30 p.m. at 250 Foundry St., Easton for a presentation of “Connections with Teens.” Parents, grandparents and guardians will enjoy an informative discussion about problems teenagers have and the problems parents have dealing with them. Parents can get questions answered during a coffee hour. Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is planning a second meeting June 4. May is National Moving Month, which kicks off the busiest time of year for Americans changing residencies. It also means unlicensed movers and dishonest scammers are waiting to take advantage of unwary consumers. Better Business Bureau is again joining with the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) to provide important tips on how to avoid scams.

Know your rights. Interstate movers must give you two booklets detailing your rights. Also, enlist the help of BBB or local law enforcement if the company threatens to hold your belongings hostage.
