Bristol-Plymouth Tech Temporarily Stops Football Due To COVID-19
The Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School says all football-related activities will be suspended until Monday.
TAUNTON, MA — The Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School has shut down its varsity and junior varsity football programs for the next week due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the two teams.
Activities for the two teams will be suspended until Monday, Sept. 27, unless more positive coronavirus cases are reported, Superintendent Dr. Alexandre Magalhaes said in a statement Tuesday.
This decision comes after the City of Taunton Board of Health worked with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to determine this was the best course of action to stop the spread of the virus.
