Car Chase of Wrentham Suspect Ends in Norton
Suspect arrested for breaking and entering of a car in Wrentham.

A state police chase of a suspect wanted for breaking into a motor vehicle ended in Norton early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 2 a.m., troopers assigned to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Foxborough received a request for assistance from the Wrentham Police Department regarding a motor vehicle pursuit of a suspect wanted for breaking into a motor vehicle in Wrentham. The suspect vehicle was a 2005 Toyota Rav4 and it was traveling on Route 495 south in Norton.

The State Police Foxborough barracks relayed this information to the State Police Middleborough Barracks. Shortly thereafter, Trooper Adam LeBlanc deployed tire deflation devices known as stingers, along Route 495 south at Exit 10. The Toyota was able to avoid the stingers and it exited Route 495 south at Exit 9. The Toyota then entered Route 495 north, at which time Trooper LeBlanc crossed over the median and deployed the stingers a second time. The Toyota struck the stingers, causing it to become disabled at the Exit 10 off ramp.
The suspect fled the Toyota on foot on Route 123 in Norton. Members of the Wrentham Police apprehended the suspect after a brief foot pursuit. Norton Police Department was not needed on scene.

“It was a very short foot pursuit,” said Norton Police Lieutanant Todd Jackson. “It happened right off the highway and was so quick they didn’t need anything.”
As the investigation is still ongoing, arrest information on the suspect is not available at this time. The Wrentham Police Department is the lead agency for this investigation.
