Easton to Rededicate Civil War Monument on Juneteenth
The Town of Easton, along with community partners, will rededicate the civil war monument on 6/19/2023 at 10am.

Please Join the Town of Easton, Raising Multicultural Kids, Human Rights Committee, American Legion Post 7, and VFW post 2547 as we rededicate the Civil War Monument at the corner of Depot and Center St. the ceremony will begin at 10am on Monday 6/19 and will address topics relating to the Civil War and historical events leading to the official ending of slavery. Guest speakers will also address the military effort and 47 names of Easton men who lost their lives in the preservation of the Union and the efforts to destroy slavery. We will also hear from local civic group leaders on how we can continue the fight for justice and equality as a community. After the ceremony, please meet us across the street at the Center School property to enjoy a community picnic hosted by Raising Multicultural Kids.
