From the Norton Police Department: The Norton Police Department Honor Guard participated in the Aquidneck Island Police Parade in Newport on Sunday, May 5, 2013.  The Honor Guard won first place in the honor guard division and also first place in best uniform.  The honor guard has participated in the event each year for over 15 years. The parade includes honor guards and marching bands, along with other agencies from around New England and beyond.  This year, over 50 police honor guards participated in the parade.  The police parade salutes law enforcement and commemorates those officers killed in the line of duty from the previous year.  For more information on the parade, go to <a href="http://www.policeparade.org" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.policeparade.org</a>.
