Norton Middle School Students Walk for the OneFund
NMS students walk for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings.
About 700 Norton Middle School students lined up on Wednesday to help raise funds for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
The event asked for donations from whoever would give.
“We accepted donations but nobody had to donate to participate,” principal Michael O’Rourke said.

NMS teachers Christine Gonet and Jess Meier created the event.
“Since it was a marathon we thought we’d do something together in the school that would give the kids the opportunity to really show their support and raise some money at the same time,” Meier said.

She said they started talking about it in late April, and they were able to organize the whole school into the event. Meier said about 600 or 700 students participated, and they think they’ve raised about $600 for the Boston One Fund.
