Deer Cause Accidents in Norton Police Log: Nov. 13 - 16

Tuesday, Nov. 13
12:39 a.m.: Reservoir Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports there are some kids being really loud and possibly putting a boat in the water. She is unsure if they are intoxicated, request police to check it out. Patrolman Mahoney reports they are well out in the water, doesn't think he can get their attention to come back in. They are relatively quiet, he'll check back shortly.
1:40 a.m.: John Scott Boulevard, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports that a vehicle has hit a deer and she requires medical attention. Patient has been treated and released.
5:52 a.m.: Alder Road, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports his car was broken into last night and rifled through. Reporting party is already on his way to work, not sure what is missing. Wanted it documented.
7:22 a.m.: Bay Road, vandalism. Caller reports mailbox was vandalized overnight.
7:30 a.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports a two-car accident in front of CVS, no injuries.
10:48 a.m.: Larson Farm Drive, harassment/threats. Caller reports getting three to four prank calls in the last week. Advised to contact her phone carrier.
5:37 p.m.: Allen Drive, fraud/embezzlement. Walk- in reports ATM card fraud.
7:51 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, civil complaint. Party reports bush that was on her property was cut down. Verbal conversation was made over property and now neighbor was upset.
6:55 p.m.: Reservoir Street. Police arrested Denise M. Eckhart, 43, of East Street, Mansfield, and charged her with speeding in violation of special regulation, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation.
9:16 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, trespassing. Caller reports she would like to speak with an officer regarding a civil complaint against her neighbor. Neighbor had trespassed into the reporting party’s home, and she would like an officer to speak to the neighbor. Patrolman King spoke with both parties and advised them of their rights and that it is a civil matter.
Wednesday, Nov. 14
9:46 a.m.: Balcolm Street, Mansfield. Assisted Mansfield Police Department with vehicle search. Area search negative.
11:00 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Patrolman Chmielinski reports both vehicles left under their own power.
1:10 p.m.: Dean Street, suspicious condition. Report of a green pickup in his driveway and left the area in an unknown direction of travel. He has had issues in the past with scrap metal being taken from property and would like an officer to check area. Area search negative.
2:37 p.m.: Burt Street, vandalism to vehicle. Reporting party believes that his mother damaged the vehicle.
3:47 p.m.: Oak Street, fraud/embezzlement. Subject into station stating his bank card was stolen.
5:37 p.m.: S. Washington Street, motor vehicle accident. Patrolman Mccarthy reports no injuries. Vehicles left the scene on their own.
6:13 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, motor vehicle accident. Walk-in reports she struck a deer.
Thursday, Nov. 15
9:26 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports he struck the overhang with his truck.
6:01 p.m.: Burt Street, vandalism. Sergeant Defosses reports subject was spoken to, it is a family dispute. Advised of their options.
11:31 p.m.: Dean Street, assisted Rehoboth Police Department for family disturbance. Area search negative.
Friday, Nov. 16
1:21 a.m.: Bay Road, assisted State Police with rollover. K-9 tracking footprints. Female in custody.
8:45 a.m.: W. Main Street, assault.
11:27 a.m.: W. Main Street, harassment/threats.
12:29 p.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Walk-ins reporting they may have been drugged. They are reporting two separate incidents.
5:08 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Two vehicles struck a deer and the deer is under one of the vehicles. No injuries.
7:22 p.m.: Old Colony Road, animal incident. Female reports she struck a dog, the dog is still alive with a leg injury. Animal Control Officer advised. No damage to vehicle. Female from Attleboro called to report her dog missing, it matches the description of this dog. Animal Control Officer advised and will respond to her residence.
