Norton's Weather: Warmer Temperatures Return Wednesday

After chilly days Monday and Tuesday, WHDH's Jeremy Reiner said we're likely to see some warmer temperatures come mid-week.

"By midweek that sunshine returns and instead of an east wind from the ice cube (also known as the ocean) the wind direction will be from the southwest giving temps a nice boost by afternoon," he said on his weather blog. "In fact, most towns will be near 70 by afternoon. Thursday offers the risk of a few scattered showers but we will stay mild with afternoon highs still expected to reach the 60s despite more clouds."

• Today: Sunny, with a high near 54. East wind 13 to 16 mph.
• Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Northeast wind 8 to 11 mph.
• Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Northeast wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 9pm. Patchy fog after 9pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. North wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 64. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
• Wednesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Thursday: A chance of showers before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
