Obituary: Alda T. (Teixeira) Dufresne

Alda T. (Teixeira) Dufresne, 85, of Norton, died at her residence surrounded by her family Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.

She was the wife of Joseph E. Dufresne Sr., whom she married on July 21, 1951 at the former St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Norton.

Born April 16, 1927, she was daughter of the late Francisco J. and Jullianne (Roccio) Teixeira. She was a lifelong resident of Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School.

Prior to her retirement in 1985, Mrs. Dufresne was employed at various local companies including the Foxboro Company, Sannie's Clothing Store in Mansfield, Texas Instruments for 13 years and for several years at the House in the Pines for Girls in Norton.

She was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary Church, Norton and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Women's Club.

 She was a life member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary - Post #8049, Norton, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Norton Council on Aging for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Joseph E. Dufresne Jr. of Tennessee, Mark E. Dufresne of Norton and Barry J. Dufresne of Rehoboth; her sisters Brenda M. Crowley of Delaware, Mary T. Souza of Foxborough and Hilda A. McClanahan of Maryland; her six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Mary Rose Teixeira, Cecilia Teixeira, Joseph J. Teixeira, Frank J. Teixeira, Angelina M. Zupanick and Lucille A. Teixeira.
