Obituary: Emma E. (LaPointe) James

Emma E. (LaPointe) James, 62, of Norton, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in New Bedford.

She was the wife of Jeffrey James.

Mrs. James was born in Attleboro, daughter of the late Ernest and Daphine (Moore) LaPointe, and she was also the stepdaughter of the late Sally LaPointe, and Walter Moore.

She was a lifelong resident of Norton and Attleboro, a parishioner of the former St. Joseph's Church. Mrs. James was a graduate of Bristol Community College Class of 1993 with a degree in Accounting.

Emma, was a bank teller for over 26 years at the Durfee-Attleboro Bank, before retiring in 2001.

She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, was an avid book reader and avid animal lover.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children Keith James of Shirley, Troy and his wife Becky James of S. Attleboro, Tara James of Norton and Kelly and her husband Christopher Paczesny of Maine; her siblings Kenneth LaPointe of S. Attleboro, Ernest LaPointe, Ronald LaPointe, Donald LaPointe, Richard Tweety, David Tweety all of Taunton, Victoria Diggle of Central Falls R.I., Linda Leary of Virginia, Debbie LaPointe of Taunton and Sharon Waterman of Taunton; her grandchildren Dylan Medeiros, Katelynn Paczesny, Dakota James and Ciara James; her many nieces and nephews; and her cat Shiloh. She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Jean LaPointe.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 S. Main St., Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
