Obituary: Gertrude E. (Smith) Bliss

Gertrude E. (Smith) Bliss, 98, died in the Dighton Nursing Center Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

She was born in Pawtucket, R.I., daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Lavender) Smith. She was a graduate of Norton High School. Gertrude was employed as an LPN at the former Paul A. Dever State School for over 27 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton. She enjoyed spending time travelling throughout the New England States.

Gertrude leaves her children Elizabeth Bailey and her husband David of Raynham and Thomas Bliss of Washington; her grandchildren Kelsey Arruda, Ryan Arruda and Laura Bailey; and her great-grandchild Alivia Chaney. She is also the aunt of several. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Bliss.

Funeral by Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
