Kenneth MacDonald, 70, of Norton passed away surrounded by his family Monday, April 8, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
He was the husband of Janet A. (Kinsman) MacDonald to whom he was wed Oct. 11, 1968.

Born in Melrose Feb. 19, 1943, he was son of the late John and Phyllis (Duff) MacDonald.
Ken grew up and was educated in Providence, R.I., Attleboro and Norton, and was a 1960 graduate of Norton High School. On Oct. 18, 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged from the service Feb. 14, 1964 with the rank of Seaman E-3.

Prior to retiring, Mr. MacDonald had been employed as a design draftsman in the bio-medical field. He worked at Ortho Diagnostics and Compucyte. He was also the owner of Mylar Specialties and along with his wife Janet, had started a small custom embroidery and hand-made doll business called Cinnamon Biscuit Designs. Following retirement, Ken enjoyed working part time at CVS in Easton.
Ken made his home in Norton for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his family and traveling with his wife Janet, their favorite point of destination being Branson, Mo.
In addition to his wife of over 44 years, he is survived by his children Kimberlie B. MacDonald of Taunton and Sean-Patrick M. MacDonald and his wife Georgia of Norton; his siblings Elaine Braley of N.H. and Douglas MacDonald of Norton; his granddaughter Alexys Baty; and his one niece and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Judi Fulp.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held Saturday, April 13, 2 to 4 p.m. at Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
A service in celebration of his life will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Ken’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to The Aplastic Anemia and MDS Foundation, 100 Park Ave., Suite 108, Rockville, Maryland 20850.
