Lois A. (Hinton) Anderson, 87, of Norton, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton.
She was wife of the late Robert W. Anderson, who died Sept. 14, 1977.

Born in Taunton Nov. 16, 1925, she was daughter of the late Oval and Grace (Tetlow) Hinton. She grew up in Taunton and Indiana and was a graduate of Taunton High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Anderson had worked as a nurses aide at Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton. She had formerly been employed for many years at Betty & Bill’s Toy Shoppe, a former landmark toy store in downtown Mansfield.

A resident of Norton for over 60 years, Lois was a longtime member and played many active roles at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton. For many years she was an organizer for the annual church spring and fall fairs. She also enjoyed being a member of the church’s former What-So-Ever Club and the “lunch bunch."
Since 1957, Lois was a member of the Rose Croix Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Taunton. Her interests included gardening and reading. She enjoyed the former winter months spent with her aunt and uncle in Leesburg, Fla., and treasured the years spent with her nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert A. Hinton and Opal Squadrilli.
Her funeral service was held at Trinitarian Congregational Church. Burial at Norton Common Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Lois’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Trinitarian Congregational Church Clock Fund, P.O. Box 2068, Norton, MA 02766.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. Norton.
