Marjorie was a longtime active parishioner and choir member at Our Lady of the Presentation Church Brighton. She enjoyed telling stories and sometimes acted them out. She had a green thumb and she tended her gardens with great pride as they were always picturesque and robust. She often recited while she toiled: "The kiss of the sun for pardon, The Song of the birds for mirth, One is nearer God's heart in a garden, Than anywhere else on earth."
Marjorie leaves her children Paul D. of Ellenton, Fla., Mark A. of Bradenton, Fla. and Elaine P. Smerlas of Waltham; her grandchildren Aimee C. Cogan and Alexandra G. DeMariano of Florida, Megan and Russ deMariano, Peter E. and Marjorie K. Smerlas of Massachusetts; her great grandchildren Caragh Bella, Jordana, Jacob and Jaden of Florida; and many nieces and nephews, all whom called her "Auntie Babe". Marjorie was predeceased by her son Neil E. of Brighton and her brothers Alfred, Joseph and John Daley all of Brighton.
