Taunton Man Charged on String of Offenses Following Domestic Assault

He was charged with domestic a and b, strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness and other charges.

A 27-year-old Taunton man was arrested by Taunton Police after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Norton, crashed into a pole and fled the area early Saturday morning.

Police responded to Mansfield Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday after a report of a man stealing a car, crashing into a pole and fleeing the area. Police found the man was involved in a domestic dispute before removing items from a residence and fleeing in the vehicle.

Officers searched the area and notified Taunton Police. Taunton Police located the vehicle and arrested Vincent Morrison, 27, of Leahy Drive, Taunton.

Morrison was charged with domestic assault and battery, strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness, use of a motor vehicle without authority, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and larceny over $250.
