Norton Veterans Looking for a Band to Perform in Annual Parade

Norton High School currently does not have a marching band.

Norton Veterans are searching for a band to supply the music in this year's Veteran's Day Parade.

Veterans Council member Ed Brault was before selectmen Thursday to update members on the parade. The biggest missing piece, he said, was music. Norton High School currently does not have a marching band.

"That puts a heck of a glitch in the parade," he said. "I’m not sure how we’re going to handle this."

The annual parade is set for Nov. 11.

Selectmen suggested reaching out to other schools in the area.

Chair Robert Kimball suggested Brault reach out to Southeastern, Wheaton and New Testament Christian School. He said the band did not need to necessarily be from Norton.

Selectmen also asked for the public's help. Should anyone know of a band for this year's parade, they should reach out to the Veteran's Council.
