WAMs To Hold Pennies For Angels Drive

Penny drive to benefit Heller's Angels.

The Wheaton Athletic Mentors (WAMs), which is Wheaton College's student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC), will be holding a penny drive to benefit Heller’s Angels, a Special Olympics Team based out of Attleboro, from March 4 to 10.

The WAMs will accept donations from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Balfour Hood during the entire week. Any dollar amount will also be accepted. If you are unable to donate in the allotted time frame, any member of Wheaton's 21 varsity teams will be accepting the change anytime throughout the week.

Heller's Angels was created by Caron Heller, a special education teacher at Brennan Middle School in Attleboro and is comprised of athletes ages eight and older. They compete in bowling, basketball, track & field, volleyball, soccer, football, and cheerleading with the purpose of teaching these athletes how to work together as a team.
