Wheaton Places Second At BU Invitational

Moses, Chicoine go 2-3, respectively, in solo routines.

The Wheaton College synchronized swimming team placed second overall out of five teams at the Boston University Invitational with 61.0 points. Ohio State University took first place honors with 90.0 points, the host Terriers ranked third overall with 53.0 points, the University of Pennsylvania was fourth (48.0) and Smith College checked in at fifth overall (22.0). 

Junior Nicole Chicoine (Santa Rosa, Calif./San Diego Sweetwater Dolphins), senior co-captain Christine Dyster (Tempe, Ariz./Arizona Desert Gems) and sophomore co-captain Janine Kopeski (Sterling, Mass./ANA Synchro) placed third overall in their trio routine with a score of 75.500 points. 

Sophomore Kayla Moses (East Greenbush, N.Y./CDYMCA Sculpins) and senior Kirsten Wendth (Waterford, N.Y./CDYMCA Sculpins) ranked third overall in their duet routine with a combined mark of 80.333 points.

Moses placed second overall in her solo routine with 79.167 points while Chicoine was third with a score of 74.667 points. 

In the team routine, Chicoine, Dyster, Kopeski, Moses and Wendth partnered with freshman Ann Marie Brasacchio (Sarasota, Fla.), sophomore Riley Callahan-Mayo (San Diego, Calif./San Diego Sweetwater Dolphins) and junior Holly Wagman (York, Pa./Pennsbury Falconettes) for a second place finish with 79.417 points.

The Lyons return to action at the East Coast Collegiate Regional/ECAC Championships on March 2-3 with both dates scheduled to start at noon.
