Why Are Flags at Half-Staff Today in Norton?

Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered all U.S. and Commonwealth flags be at half-staff on state buildings.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered that the U.S. flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Monday, Nov. 23, in honor of Private First Class Aaron Cordoba-Martinez, United States Army, of Taunton, MA, who died on Nov. 14.

The paratrooper from the 82nd Airborn Division died after a motorcycle accident on Monday that occurred on Butner Road at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Cordoba-Martinez died on Saturday morning, reported ArmyTimes.

Cordoba-Martinez served as an infantryman with 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne, at Fort Bragg.
