Arrest Made Two Years Into $35,000 Scam Investigation

Police say Eduart Bajrami stole $35,000 ​from a Norwood resident as part of a home improvement scam.

NORWOOD, MA — It took two years, but the Norwood Police Department has arrested a man accused of stealing $35,000 from a resident as part of a home improvement scam.

Eduart Bajrami, 54, was recently arrested in Eastern Pennsylvania and extradited to Massachusetts, according to Norwood Police. He appeared in Dedham District Court Wednesday on felony larceny warrants.

Back in 2016, police said, Bajram was the principal in businesses called "Hi Tech Roofing" as well as "Eagle Roofing." He is accused of claiming to provide a service and collecting fees before disappearing.

Bajram fled the state once he caught wind of pending charges against him, authorities said. Their search for him took investigators throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states and involved state police in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the Department of Homeland Security, Interpol, the Port Authority Police of NY and NJ, the Chester County District Attorney's office and several local agencies.
