Car-Carrier Crashes Into Sedan On Route 1 In Norwood
Police say a tractor-trailer carrying multiple cars ran a red light, sending a sedan into the middle of a busy Route 1 intersection.

NORWOOD, MA — A tractor-trailer carrying other cars ran a red light on Route 1 in Norwood Wednesday afternoon, Norwood police confirmed.
Surveillance video released by the Norwood Police Department shows the car carrier heading northbound on Route 1 near Morse Street when it crashes into a dark-colored sedan.
"It was clear on video that the truck went through a red light," Chief William Brooks told Patch, adding that the driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital for an evaluation but walked out of the car.

Police and EMS responded to the scene a little after 2 p.m., asking people to avoid the road for almost 45 minutes.
In the video, airbags are released as soon as the truck hits the sedan, knocking it into the middle of the busy Route 1 intersection.

Immediately following the crash, Norwood police put out a bulletin searching for the driver of the tractor-trailer, but the driver eventually returned to the scene. It is unclear if the driver will be facing any charges.
