Malden Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession
A 38-year-old man was arrested by Norwood Police early Thursday morning for drug possession and being a fugitive from justice.

A Malden man was arrested early Thursday morning when Norwood Police found crack cocaine in his possession, police spokesman Kevin Grasso said.
Brian H. Elmore, 38, of Malden, was scheduled to be arraigned today in Dedham District Court on charges of possession of a class B substance and being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
According to Grasso, Officer Gregory Shore was on patrol when he observed a vehicle parked on the side of Route 1. Shore was driving in the opposite direction and had to turn his cruiser around to investigate, and when he arrived at the location where he first observed the vehicle it had moved from the road to a business parking lot.

During Shore's encounter with Elmore and another party, he discovered items consistent with drug use inside the vehicle.
"Officer Michael O’Brien joined Officer Shore and discovered that Brian Elmore had in his possession a baggie containing crack cocaine," Grasso said. "He was arrested on that drug charge and it was determined shortly after that an active warrant was in effect out of Stanford, Maine. Due to having an active warrant on him an additional arrest charge was added for being a fugitive from justice."
