Norwood 2018 Memorial Day Schedule

From the Town of Norwood:

The Department of Veteran Services coordinates the Memorial Day ceremonies. It begins with placing American flags on graves of Norwood Veterans the Saturday before Memorial Day. Volunteers are welcome and are asked to contact the Veterans' Officer at 781-762-1240.

The ceremonies on Memorial Day begin with a service at Saint Catherine of Siena Church. The flag on the Town Common is then placed at half staff.

Ceremonies are held at the Old Parish Cemetery, after which a parade is held. Ceremonies are then conducted at Highland Cemetery.

2018 Memorial Day Schedule

May 26

• 8:00 a.m. Decorate the graves of Norwood's Veterans with American flags - Highland Cemetery

May 28

• 8 a.m. - Memorial Service at St. Catherine of Siena Church
• 9 a.m. - Flag raising at Town Common
• 9:30 a.m. - Ceremonies at Old Parish Cemetery (the rear of 480 Washington St.)
• 10 a.m. - Parade steps off on the corner of Washington and Howard streets, ceremonies at Highland Cemetery following the parade
