Norwood Celebrates First Night, Beginning Of 150th Anniversary

This was the kick-off of a year-long celebration of the town's sesquicentennial.

NORWOOD, MA - Hundreds of people gathered in Norwood Center for its celebration of First Night Friday night and welcomed in the start of the town's 150th anniversary year.

These photos were submitted by Norwood resident Frederick Cannon Jr. to capture the festivities, which featured ice sculptures, synthetic ice skating on Central Street, a trolley ride, and a variety of games for teens and children.

Several events will be held throughout the year, including a gala, a skating exhibition and presentations on Norwood's history.
