“We had an interesting variety of proposals to review,” said Amy Pfingston, grants coordinator for the council. “Some applicants needed help filling out the application or aligning their projects to our stated priorities. We decided that we can help future applicants by hosting a grant writing workshop. We will post the details once we have a firm date.”
“We encourage Norwood residents to complete the survey that we will be sending out this summer,” said Pfingston, noting that priorities for grants are based on community feedback.. “We want to provide the cultural experiences that the folks in Norwood want for their town. Perhaps COVID played a part in the disappointing small number of responses last year, so we looked forward to a more robust response this year."
Funding for the grants is possible through the support of the Town of Norwood, donations, and the Mass Cultural Council.
The mission of the Norwood Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, and education in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for residents of Norwood.
