Norwood HS Unranked in 2018 U.S. News and World Report Rankings

NORWOOD, MA — Norwood High School is unranked in U.S. News and World Report's annual rankings of America's best high schools released last Wednesday.

The number one high school in Massachusetts is Boston Latin School. Nearby Medfield Senior High School is ranked seventh, Sharon is 19th, Westwood is 27th, Foxborough Regional Charter School is 39th, Canton is 44th

The rankings are designed to capture how well high schools educate all of their students and prepare them for college-level work, the magazine said. Rankings are based on several factors including performance compared to expectations, graduation rates and college readiness performance.

These are Norwood's vital stats, according to the survey:

• 13:1 student-teacher ratio
• 26.2 college readiness score
• 30 percent participate in AP exams
• 85 percent pass AP exams
• 84 percent proficiency in math
• 93 percent proficiency in English
• 95 percent graduation rate
