Norwood Mobil Clerk Uses Martial Arts To Fight Off Alleged Robber
An alleged robber wasn't expecting his target to know martial arts.

NORWOOD, MA — A clerk at the Mobil on Route 1 used some martial arts move to thwart an alleged robber.
Ebrahim Gawargi was working at the gas station Tuedsday night when a man identifeid as 46-year-old John Benedict of Dorchester allegedly attempted to swipe money from Gawargi. The clerk was able to use his training to knock the wind out of Benedict, who was later taken into custody.
Gawargi told WFXT that he trains daily for three to four hours a day for fun. That training allowed him to throw some punches and knock the suspect out following a five minute brawl.

Gawargi added that he never expected to use his skills outside the gym but had to do something when the incident happened.
