Norwood Police Log: Motor Vehicle Accidents, Drug Arrest

Friday, August 17

2:36 p.m. - Caller reported cell phone stolen from a DPW truck at the Balch School on Washington St. Police filed a report.

4:12 p.m. - Caller claimed he was assaulted and thrown out of the Krazy Horse on Washington St. As a result, police officers brought the caller back to the station under protective custody.

10:29 p.m. - Caller reported male passed out in a silver Nissan in the Jake 'N Joes parking lot. As a result, police officers took the party into protective custody until released to a family member.

10:56 p.m. - Caller on Endicott St. reported hearing gunshots. Several other calls reported fireworks in the area. Officers checked the area including the brook and the George Willet Parkway, reported all quiet.

Saturday, August 18

3:49 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Boston-Providence Highway and Dean St. One vehicle towed from the scene. No personal injury reported. Police filed a report.

4:18 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident in the highway entrance way to Walgreen's on Boston-Providence Highway. Two vehicles towed from the scene.

4:56 p.m. - Caller reported car into jersey barrier at Boston-Providence Highway and Sumner St. Responding officer reported no damage to guardrail, one vehicle towed from the scene.

5:42 p.m. - Caller reported a female party in an alleyway on Dean St. damaging a car with an umbrella. Responding officer reported people on scene claim no knowledge of the suspect's identity. Police filed a report.

9:33 p.m. - Caller on Buckminster Dr. reported girlfriend stole ATM card and slashed some tires. Officers filed complaint application and summons, party's name not given in police logs.

Sunday, August 19

1:19 p.m. - Officer spoke with two suspicious females on Washington St. As a result, one was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant. Amy Grant, 37, of Norwood, was charged with a subsequent offense of possession of a class A substance, and possession of a class B substance, as well as the one oustanding warrant.

4:21 p.m. - Caller reported items missing from a home on Walpole St. Police filed a report.
