Norwood Resident Refuses to Surrender to Brain Injury
Norwood resident Stephon Furtick plans to walk a full lap at the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts Walk and Roll event September 18.

NORWOOD, MA - Stephon Furtick of Norwood suffered a stroke at the the age of 51 in 2011. He has been in a state of recuperating and recovery since then. For the past year he has been planning what doctors considered to be ‘unimaginable’ a few years ago: Stephon is planning to walk a full lap at this year’s Walk & Roll in Framingham. He says crossing the finishing line: "would mean peace with myself and for others; a reminder of what anyone can do."
During the past two years, he has been writing a book about his struggle, recovery and achievements. This strong-willed human being is a shining example of what can be accomplished with grit, determination and perseverance.
