Norwood Suicide Possibly Linked To Dedham Death, According To DA

Investigators say deaths in Norwood and Dedham appear to be related.

DEDHAM, MA — A death in Dedham and an apparent suicide in Norwood appear to be connected, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.

Jeffrey Goldstein, 41, of Dedham, was found dead inside a room at the Holiday Inn on Ariadne Road in Dedham Monday night. A short time later, Mary MacKinnon, 74, of Norwood, was found dead inside the Holiday Inn Express in Norwood.

Venture Community Services, a residential care facility in Dedham, contacted police at about 7 p.m. Monday after MacKinnon didn't return after leaving with Goldstein, who is a resident of the facility that she had worked with for many years. MacKinnon left the facility early in the morning with Goldstein to transport him to a medical appointment in one of the organization’s transport vans, the DA's office said.
