Pet of the Week: Ruby

Ruby is a young cat in need of a good home.

Ruby is a pretty white cat with double paws. She is very sweet, social, playful and affectionate. She enjoys attention and is comfortable being picked up and cuddled. She has a very endearing habit of wrapping her paws around your arm as your pet her as if to say don't stop. She likes to cuddle up right next to her foster mom and purrs with contentment. She is still very kitten-like and loves interactive play.

We estimate Ruby is about 1 to 2 years old. She will do best as the only pet in her new home since she loves people but does not enjoy the companionship of the other felines in her foster home. Ruby was a stray. She was not spayed and her health was severely compromised when she was first rescued. The cause of her problems appears to have been a flea allergy. Believe it or not, many cats are allergic to fleas and even one flea can cause them severe pain. Ruby has been with us for several weeks now. She is spayed and flea-free. She loves being an indoor cat and so we don't expect her allergy will cause her anymore problems.

Please call Neponset Valley Humane Society at 781-769-1990 or email nvhumanesociety@gmail.com to arrange a meeting with Ruby.
