Police Chief Announces Creation of Warrant Unit
Under the direction of Sgt. Elaine M. Kougias, three patrol officers will work to track down defendants who are wanted for defaulting on court cases brought by the Norwood Police Department.

Chief Brooks announced the creation of the Norwood Police Department Warrant Unit on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
Under the direction of Sgt. Elaine M. Kougias, three patrol officers will work to track down defendants who are wanted for defaulting on court cases brought by the Norwood Police Department. Officers Timothy McDonagh, Derek Wennerstrand and Dylan Haldiman will receive specialized training on search and seizure, and the tracking of fugitives.

Some warrants held by the Department are for older cases while others are more recent. Priority will be given to defendants wanted for crimes of violence, drug distribution and OUI.
