Two Norwood Businesses Charged With Liquor License Violations

Percival Brewing Company and Paradise Biryani Pointe both received warnings for serving a person under the age of 21.

NORWOOD, MA — Two Norwood businesses have received written warning following liquor license violations.

Percival Brewing Company and Paradise Biryani Pointe both received the warnings from the selectmen for serving a person under the age of 21.

Filipe Oliveira, the owner of Percival Brewing Company, told the selectmen Tuesday night that there was an opening in the back of his building that allowed people to sneak in.

“We sincerely apologize for this occurrence. Unfortunately when we reviewed the situation and circumstances, we realized that our security measures are not that strict or that compliant to the point where it would prevent the situation from occurring again,” Oiveira said.

To avoid a repeat incident, Oliveria said the they are pulling back hours and will close at 8 p.m. rather than 10 p.m. additional training is being conducted, everyone is undergoing TIPS training, and numerous ID signs have been posted across the establishment.

Paradise Biryani Pointe representatives were also disappointed in the violation. They said they have three employees who are TIPS certified and two will be on site at all times.
