Brooksby Village Scholarships Help 45 Students With College
Brooksby Village awarded $270,000 in scholarships to students.

PEABODY, MA – More than 1,700 Brooksby Village residents contributed to scholarships for 45 students this year. The students will each receive $6,000.
"An exciting announcement was made at the Brooksby Village Scholarship Awards Ceremony," said Elizabeth Macomber, philanthropy manager at Brooksby Village. "Due to the generosity of Brooksby Village residents, the scholarships have increased from $5,000 to $6,000. We have awarded scholarships to over 400 students since the program started in 2002. The students become eligible for the Brooksby Village Scholarship by completing 1000 hours of work here over a consecutive 2-year period. The students and the residents build strong bonds of friendship. They enjoy their conversations, daily interactions and learning from each other. The scholarship program is a wonderful benefit for students working at Brooksby Village."
Macomber also announced that an endowment fund has been established by a resident who sees the students as the hope of the future. A 13-year resident of Brooksby, the resident is passionate about education and wanted to leave a lasting legacy in memory of his wife.
