Coronavirus: First Responders Salute Health Care Workers

Fire and police departments from the North Shore saluted health care workers with a rolling rally to area hospitals.

PEABODY, MA —A rolling rally featuring more than 50 police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and tow trucks rolled through the North Shore Tuesday to salute the region's health care workers.

Peabody Police Sgt. James Harkins coordinated the tribute, which kicked off from the parking lot of the Northshore Mall and visited Lahey Medical Center in Peabody, Beverly Hospital and North Shore Medical Center in Salem.

The 45-minute rally, which stretched up to half a mile, ended at Salem Hospital at 3 p.m., where the rally arrived just in time to honor workers at the hospital's shift change.
