Covenant Christian Academy Girls Athletic Program Joins Independent Girls Conference
Covenant Christian Academy will start competing in the private school league in the fall.

PEABODY, MA – Covenant Christian Academy girls sports teams will start playing in the Independent Girls Conference (IGC) this fall. The IGC includes Waring School, Landmark School, Brimmer and May, and more.
The IGC is part of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council. Joining the IGC may allow Covenant to offer new athletic teams for its growing student population. Covenant boys teams currently compete in the Massachusetts Bay Independent League.
"Entering into the IGC is a major accomplishment for Covenant Girls athletics," said Dr. Ryan Plosker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Covenant Christian Academy and the Girls Varsity Coach in a news release. "The IGC is a competitive, highly sought after league that attracts some of the top private school athletic talent in the state. With the growth of athletics at Covenant, we are seeing more young women excelling on the field and court who are ready for a greater challenge."

Covenant has competed in the Girl's Independent League, also a part of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, since 2010.
"The GIL was a great place for our athletic program to get its start, and to grow. We are thankful to the other member schools for good competitive play over the years," said Kathy Azadian, the Athletic Director at Covenant. "As our school population has increased, and the skill level of our teams has advanced, we find ourselves in need of a broader pool of competitors. This move to the IGC will help me continue to offer the best possible athletic experiences for Covenant student athletes."
