
ESSEX COUNTY, MA – Winter storms have taken their toll on Essex County in the past week: Route 128 was a mess, power got knocked out all over the North Shore and slick roads challenged even the most seasoned New England drivers. In Salem alone last Wednesday, police reported more than 30 car accidents.
Monday promised at least a little more snow, making commuting conditions treacherous.

According to unofficial reports from the National Weather Service, the most snow in Essex County was in Haverhill, measured at 10.4 inches at 8:49 a.m. Monday.
West Peabody got 5 inches of snow when a measurement was taken at 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, and another report out of Peabody measured 4 inches at 9:30 p.m.

A report out of Danvers measured 4.5 inches at 10:06 p.m. on Sunday, and someone in Beverly measured 2.5 inches as of 4:25 p.m. Sunday.
