Fundraising in Full Force for Peabody Youth Football
Following the resignations of the Peabody Youth Football and Cheering President and Treasurer, the league is "in dire need" of funds.
PEABODY, MA – Players and cheerleaders with Peabody Youth Football and Cheering will be out in force the next two Saturdays to try and offset the league's recent financial woes.
Kids in PYF uniform will be canning in various locations around the city, according to an online post. President of the league Jacqui Pence and Treasurer George Gardikas resigned early this month following an online petition by parents calling for them to step down.
The petition was launched after a WBZ investigative report found questionable expenses in the books. The report found that players were given damaged equipment, causing concern among parents for their children's safety.
